Most floss is plastic string.
Flip your floss tub over and read the label. Nylon. PTFE, from the same chemical family as non-stick pans. Petroleum wax. That is what most people drag between their teeth twice a day. Then the tub runs out, and the whole thing goes to landfill.

Having a kid changes what you're willing to ignore. We started reading labels, and the plastic started leaving our house. The kitchen containers. The wraps. The bottles. Room by room, we swapped it all out.
Then one night I looked at the floss in my hand. Plastic string, coated in who knows what, and I was dragging it between my teeth. Every month, another empty plastic tub in the bin. The room where we care for our bodies was the last room full of the stuff.
So I built what I couldn't buy: floss spun from silk instead of plastic, in an aluminium dispenser that lives on the wall and gets refilled, never thrown away. The bathroom was the last room we fixed. It can be your first.

Before you ask.
Will it damage my wall or mirror?
No. The dispenser mounts with a premium peel-and-stick adhesive. No drills, no screws, no holes. It holds for years on tile, glass, mirror and painted walls, and comes off cleanly with a little heat.
Does silk floss work on tight teeth?
Yes. Silk is the strongest natural fibre suited to flossing. For very tight contacts, slide it through with light tension rather than snapping it down, and rotate to a fresh section between teeth.
Is it really plastic-free?
The floss is 100% silk with no plastic bobbin, packed in paper. The dispenser is aluminium. The only polymer anywhere is the wall adhesive and a tiny internal seal. Neither goes near your mouth, and neither is ever thrown away.
How long does a refill last?
Each spool holds 30 metres, which is about two months of daily flossing. Refill packs bring the price down to $4.48 a spool.
